Trofeo Mediterraneo

SISB is proud to be playing its part to fulfil the dreams of Under-11 footballers by sending them to the home of Barcelona Football Club, to participate in Trofeo Mediterraneo from April 13 - 20, 2019, pitting their skills against top teams.

In collaboration with ThaiBev Football Academy (TBFA), SISB is supporting the team of 13 young footballers for the tournament in Pineda de Mar, Spain.

This initiative to provide invaluable exposure to young footballers is in line with SISB International Academy’s mission to nurture the next generation of national athletes, not just in football, but other sports as well, such as gymnastics, badminton and table tennis.

Mr Kelvin Koh, Chief Executive Officer of SISB Public Company Limited, said: “SISB believes in developing youth on a holistic level. In addition to quality education, sports play a crucial role in building character, determination and integrity.”

The SISB International Football Academy was started in 2017 to provide those with the desire and ability to succeed in football with top coaching expertise using world-class facilities. Its trainees, who are between seven and 18 years old, are trained by Dr Jatuporn Pramolbal, Head Coach of the Thai Women’s National Football team that won Gold at the 27th South-east Asian Games, and his team of Football Association of Thailand licensed coaches.

“This tournament will give our players good exposure and, hopefully, some of them will become national players and one day help nurture future generations of footballers. I would like to thank Mr Kelvin Koh for this great opportunity,” said Dr Jatuporn, who is also the coach and founder of TBFA.

Also onboard as a sponsor is sportswear manufacturer Evo Sport. Its managing director, Mr Sakol Kiatsivikul, said: “I’m grateful for this opportunity to show my support for this team. As a sports lover, I believe that sports can develop the mind and body, and help us overcome obstacles in life.”

Trofeo Mediterraneo is organised by KOMM MIT International, a non-profit body founded in 1983 in Bonn, Germany, with 35 years of experience organising youth football tournaments in countries including Spain, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy and Germany.
